Dance Dance Revolution

Short Overview

Dance Dance Revolution — DDR for short — is one of the best-known rhythm games ever made. Released in 1998, the Konami classic created a whole new genre: instead of pressing buttons, players step in time with the music on a special dance pad. DDR got millions moving worldwide and became one of the biggest crowd-pleasers in the arcades.

The Goal of the Game

Follow the beat, step on the right arrows, build long flawless combos, and finish each song with the best grade you can. Arrows stream up the screen and you have to hit them on the dance pad at exactly the right moment: the closer you stay to the rhythm, the higher your score. From gentle songs to lightning-fast challenges there is a difficulty for everyone — and success takes a sense of rhythm, speed, and stamina in equal measure.
