Revenge from Mars
Quick Overview
Revenge from Mars is a special sci-fi pinball machine released by Bally in 1999, in which the Martians attack Earth once again! The game is the spiritual successor to 1995's Attack from Mars, but it takes the fight against the aliens to a new level with a brand-new technology. It was the first machine on Williams' revolutionary Pinball 2000 system, which combined traditional pinball mechanics with computer animations.

Why Is It Special?
Revenge from Mars is a milestone in pinball history. Pinball 2000 technology projects the image of a monitor onto the playfield through a half-mirrored glass, so the digital characters and the real mechanical elements form a single spectacular game world. The system let players attack virtual enemies with the ball while keeping the physical feel of classic pinball. Only two games were mass-produced with this technology: Revenge from Mars and Star Wars Episode I. Revenge from Mars was one of the most exciting technological experiments in the pinball industry: with Pinball 2000, Williams wanted to combine the strengths of traditional pinball and modern video games. Although the technology drew a lot of attention, Williams ended pinball production in 1999, so Revenge from Mars entered history as one of only two released Pinball 2000 machines.
