What Data We Handle
Website usage data, collected through Google Analytics 4, but only once you actively consent to it via the cookie banner.
Any personal data you choose to share with us directly — for example your name, email address, or phone number, when you send us an email or call us.
This website has no account registration, no login, and no contact or booking form that collects data on its own — we only receive what you send us yourself.
Cookies and Google Analytics
By default, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you choose "Accept" or "Reject." Closing the banner without choosing (e.g. with the × button) is treated the same as accepting. Google's Consent Mode v2 keeps this choice denied until you actively grant it.
If you accept, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to measure visits, popular pages, and traffic sources. These cookies are set and processed by Google Ireland Limited, acting as our data processor.
Your choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) under the key "ah_consent," purely so the banner doesn't ask again on your next visit — this value never leaves your browser.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer, which clears your saved choice and shows the banner again.
For phone number, email address, and Google Maps directions links, we log a Google Analytics event (click_phone, click_email, click_directions) when you click them, but only if you've accepted cookies — this only tells us that a link was clicked, not who clicked it.
Legal Basis for Processing
Analytics cookies are processed based on your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Personal data you send us directly (e.g., by email) is processed based on our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
International Data Transfers
Google Analytics is operated by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC (United States). Data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area; Google relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and its own safeguards for such transfers. See Google's own privacy policy for details: policies.google.com/privacy.
Retention Period
Google Analytics 4 event data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted.
Emails and other correspondence you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry, and are deleted once that purpose no longer applies.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at arcadebudapest@gmail.com.
Complaints
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you may lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH): 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9-11., Hungary; postal address 1363 Budapest, Pf. 9.; phone +36 (1) 391-1400; email ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu; website naih.hu.
If you are located in another EU/EEA country, you may also contact your own national data protection authority. You also have the right to seek a judicial remedy before a competent court.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website or to data protection law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
